Anne Elise Garrison is a Los Angeles-based dancer, artist, and movement facilitator. Originally from South Carolina, Anne Elise relocated to California to pursue an undergraduate degree at Chapman University, completing a BFA in Dance Performance and a Minor in Nutrition. Her passion for dancer wellness and movement exploration has led her to become a Certified Sports Nutrition Coach and Flexibility and Stretching Coach through NASM.
She has had the privilege to study under artists such as Wilson Mendieta, Steven Sofia, Jenny Backhaus, Will Johnston and has continued to explore her love for movement exploration by attending Gaga workshops at the Bates Dance Festival + the Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv. While at Chapman, she had the privilege to choreograph her own works and to perform the works of choreographers such as Ido Tadmor, Mara Hancock, and Brian Golden.
Currently, Anne Elise is an instructor + choreographer at FOCUS Dance Center for the Performing Arts in Irvine, CA, and is an Apprentice + Education Teaching Artist with Backhausdance facilitating dance residencies in Southern California Schools.
When she's not teaching, you can find her painting, soaking up the sun, and playing with her Siberian Forest Cat, Otis.
